Using the Integrated VR Viewer

The Integrated VR Viewer allows you to open and explore your IFC models in a fully immersive virtual reality environment. This feature is compatible with a wide range of VR headsets, providing a seamless way to experience your projects.

1. Accessing the VR Viewer

1. Locate the VR Viewer Option:

• On the project dashboard, find the VR Viewer button next to your model files.

2. Open an IFC Model in VR:

• Click on an IFC file from your project and select the option to open it in the VR Viewer.

2. VR Headset Compatibility

The Integrated VR Viewer works with popular VR headsets, making it easy to step into your models from almost any device:

• Meta Quest 2
• Meta Quest 3
• Meta Quest 3s
• Apple Vision Pro
• And more VR headsets that support WebXR.

Simply connect your VR headset to your computer or use it wirelessly if supported, and dive into your BIM models.

3. Navigating the VR Environment

1. Moving Within the Model:

• Use your VR controllers to walk through and explore the model. You can teleport between different sections or use joystick-based navigation for a smoother experience.

2. Interacting with Objects:

• Point at different parts of the model to get more information about components, dimensions, or materials, just as you would with a 2D viewer, but now in an immersive 3D space.

3. Viewing Different Perspectives:

• Change between different viewpoints and perspectives to get a close-up or bird's-eye view of the project. The VR Viewer supports zooming and rotating around the model for detailed inspections.

4. Enhancing Collaboration with VR

• Collaborate in Real-Time:
  • You can collaborate with team members in the virtual space, discussing project aspects as if you were physically on-site.
• Immersive Presentations:
  • Use the VR viewer to present your project to stakeholders or clients, offering a more engaging and comprehensive way to understand the project.

5. Getting the Most from the VR Viewer

- Check Your Hardware:

• Ensure your VR headset is compatible and set up with your system. Most headsets require a simple setup process with your computer or direct connection through the VR platform.

- Seamless Integration:

• The VR Viewer integrates directly into your Bimefy project workflow, allowing you to move from a 2D or 3D model on your screen to full VR immersion with ease.
